Another Movie Night

It's the day after the Quince and I basically slept all day. I only had 3 hours of sleep before getting up and helping decorate. I went to bed at a decent time and took sleeping pills, but alas! They did not work. So now I'm here, typing out a post at 11:05 PM.

It almost felt like being hungover! I was so exhausted. My legs and feet are sore from dancing on gravel! But, you know what's a good remedy? Breakfast for dinner. I whipped up some eggs and bacon in the kitchen and chowed down. It was so damn good, just what I needed.

I have the T.V. in the living room all to myself, so I took the opportunity to watch some more classic horror films! After my delicious meal, I made myself a cup of hot chocolate. My mother found another Swiss Miss hot chocolate Keurig box with a salted caramel flavor. I had to try it out! I also had all of my fixings: Whipped cream, marshmallows, and sprinkles. I was able to dress it up!

It was very delicious, 10/10! I love hot beverages, they are so comforting. There are plenty of films to choose from, I tried skimming through my mental library to decide which ones to watch. All these streaming platforms have films that I paid to rent last month. So annoying!! I just had to freaking wait, man! Anyways, I chose my movies and sat down with my hot chocolate.

The first film I watched was Poltergeist (1982)! I tried looking for free streaming, but no such luck on my Roku TV. I knew I'd be able to watch it on the living room TV., so I put it on while I made my dinner. I have never watched Poltergeist all the way through, I've only ever caught certain scenes. And guess what? Poltergeist was a really good movie. Who would've thunk? I thought the Freeling couple smoking weed together on their bed was really cute. I really liked Diane as a character and a mom. The funniest part of the whole film is Steve yelling at his boss, Lewis:

You son of a bitch! You moved the cemetery, but you left the bodies, didn't you? You son of a bitch, you left the bodies and you only moved the headstones! You only moved the headstones! Why? Why?

That sure did make me laugh! Anyways, a while back I watched the 2015 remake and it fucking blows. It is greatly inferior to the original. And that's that!

The next movie I watched after that was Carrie (1976). This is a film I watched a very long time ago, so my memory of the film is a bit hazy. Let me tell you, there is something so charming about 70's horror films. You light a movie like that today and they kill your whole family. Everything was so saturated and fuzzy, very pleasing to the eye.

Carrie ended up being a very hard watch for me, it pained me. It hurt me to watch Carrie suffer and be abused by her mother. It gave me the same feeling I get when I watch Mommy Dearest. I know that film is very campy and funny to a lot of people, but ain't shit funny to me, man. Don't even joke, lad. With that being said, Piper Laurie played the fuck out of that role. There won't be another performance like hers, I'll tell you what.

I have seen the 2015 film as well... I guess it was supposed to be a modern remake for the teens of that era. Which was my crowd. Eh. I'm also aware of the new miniseries streaming on Amazon. Not watching that!!

I only watched 2 films that night, but I want to mention the films I watched during the last week. I watched both the 1989 and 2019 versions of Pet Sematary. I also watched the 89 version a long time ago, so my memory needed a refresher. I forgot how funny I found Gage! His little "evil" laughs and his "angry" face humored me as a kid. And just like every other movie, the original is always better than the remake. The 2019 film was so hollow and boring. It seems to be that way for all of these 2010's remakes, just hollow and boring!

So yeah, I've been watching some pretty good horror films this month. I'm really enjoying myself! The hot chocolate and baked goods really make the experience worthwhile. There are lots of things coming up this week :3 I'm making vampire cupcakes this Wednesday! Complete with red frosting, vampire fangs and a blood packet. I'm also going to watch Resident Evil (2026) this Friday, woo hoo!!

Playing Normal

My dress for the Quince! It's a pretty dress, I'm sure it'll be useful again one day. I'm not used to showing so much cleavage, I don't really like to. It makes me uncomfortable. I also didn't want to show so much around my family, but I had already gotten the dress a long time ago. In the end, I thought, who cares? I'm a grown woman, I'm 28 years old. I can't hide my body or control how it looks.

I don't usually wear cowboy boots, I had to borrow some from my mother. They were much needed, as we were dancing on gravel! They were covered in dust when I got home. I also didn't do too much with my make-up! I did my cousin's and mother's make-up before mine, so I was in a time crunch. My hair was okay, I didn't have time to put it in rollers like I wanted to. I think I turned out okay ;)

Horror Films and Sweet Things

Guess what? I'm baking again! Woohoo!! My mother grabbed a bunch of stuff at the Dollar Tree and gave me free range to do whatever. Very fun and exciting! I have already baked 2 different desserts and started watching a bunch of horror films. My main goal this October is to watch all of the classic horror films, since there are a lot that I haven't watched all the way through. I'm not the biggest fan of the classics, like Halloween and Child's Play, but I need to give them a chance. I have to!

The first film I forced myself to watch was Friday the 13th! I watched it while drinking a cup of pumpkin spice hot chocolate! I dressed it up with some orange, gummy worm whipped cream. Heck yeah!! As for the movie... Honestly, I didn't enjoy watching it. I got pretty bored (•᷄ᴗ•᷅ ᵕ) I might have to give it another chance, since I was cleaning my room... lol! I think it was a bit lackluster to me because it was Jason's mom the whole time. I'm gonna have to watch the rest of the films to see Jason in action!

The next film I managed to watch was Nightmare on Elm Street. This night, I baked Reese's flavored coffee cake! They came out a bit dry, but they were still good. I found a pumpkin shaped baking tray so I used it; We notoriously have a hard time pulling the pastry out of the pan because of it's shape. But, to my surprise, they came out clean! Thanks to the cooking spray I used, lol.

I watched Nightmare with my mother; She used to be really scared of Freddy Kruger as a kid! The film was pretty campy to me, I'm gonna assume it is for others. There are a lot of truly frightening moments in the film, like Tina being dragged around the walls of her room and Glen being sucked into his bed. It was more enjoyable to watch over Friday the 13th, I'll tell you that much!

The last film I watched was Scream! Scream is a good film, nothing wrong with it. It's meta, it's funny, it's entertaining. Stu always makes me laugh. It's just the brutal over-saturation of Scream merchandise and its sequels. I get so turned off by the masks being used for sex and the shitty glass cups that are covered in Criket adhesives. In fact, all the big guys, including Regan and Leatherface, are becoming the horror versions of "Live, Laugh, Love". But other than that, it's a good film! And who gives a shit, you know? Buy the cups and have your partner wear the mask for sexy photo shoots or sex. YOLO!

I didn't make anything for my Scream movie night, but I did make some Brookies today! I am watching Fright Night (1985) as I'm typing this, does that count? I wanted to bake them in cupcake sleeves to make it easier to create marshmallow webs, but my mom wanted me to use the new pan she got. It made it difficult to create the webs, they didn't turn out good! I covered my mistakes with some sprinkles... lol! They taste great, so that's all that matters!

The next dessert I'm gonna make is a Halloween Peeps s'mores dip! I'm not a big fan of Peeps, they've always grossed me out! But, maybe once they've been toasted over some chocolate morsels, they'll taste better. I also have some syringes to make mixed drinks and vampire teeth with red frosting to make cupcakes. I'll be making those next week! I also have a lot more films to watch, like Carrie, Halloween, Candy Man, Pet Sematary and so much more!

My Costume Came!

Very exciting news! My "Cinderella" costume came in the mail! I also got my white bloomers as well, since the dress is really fucking short! Normally, I wouldn't have an issue with that. It's only when I'm around family that I like to keep it PG, you know? I don't know what our Halloween plans are, I'm assuming we'll do the same thing as always! We bet pizza and snacks while we hand out candy. We usually sit outside to pass the candy out. I might want to switch my thigh high stockings for white tights, since it gets pretty chilly at night. It might be the best choice. I can't be a hoochie all the time!

Blue Brainz!

I did some make-up inspired by this blue-toned lip gloss I got from that key-chain! I was going for some kind of cyber look. I might have to give it another go. Idk! I kinda like it.

October, 123!

Goodness, I said that October would be busy for me... I severely underestimated just how busy I'd be. So! Thursday, October 1st was the Powderpuff game. I had made my cousin's poster, which kind of embarrassed her (^_^;) lol! I hope she appreciates it now that the game's over and no one can see it! She wasn't on the field for long, just like the last 5-10 minutes! We still had fun being there, though! I went for a 90's, silver eye look for the game and I wore my platform sandals. Also, I got this coconut banana milk drink. It was so good! I thought I wasn't the biggest fan of banana, but after drinking this, I think I like it now. Plus, I've been making a lot of peanut butter and banana bread. Just don't give me no banana Laffy Taffy!!! (。•̀ ⤙ •́ 。ꐦ) !!!

The next day, I basically woke up and started cleaning my room! I had made plans earlier in the week to clean, so Friday was that day! I also re-watched The Strangers while I ate my dinner. I went through all of my Winter clothes that I had stored in the garage. Winter will be here before we know it, so I needed to go through what I'd keep. My mother was out of town, so I asked her to look out for some hot chocolate. I wasn't having any luck in town, so I wanted to see if she could find some out of town! And she did! It's Swiss Miss Pumpkin Spice hot chocolate for the Keurig, oh yeah baby.

It's pretty good! It tastes like the Abuelita hot chocolate with its "spiciness". I woke up early the next day to go to our city's annual parade. I remember the parade being so much fun when I was younger! It's not like that anymore, lol! The parade isn't very good anymore and they put long pauses in-between each "float", making a potentially short parade way too long!

The theme for the parade was "celebrating 250 years of America", which felt very dystopian with all of the A.I. generated banners and posters decorating the main street and "floats". And by floats, I mean the homecoming floats the high school students made and the numerous tractors and trucks. We used to have clowns and the Chinese Dragon dance in the parade, I miss them! Well, at least we have the Tachi Palace Casino float! ˗ˏˋ٩(꩜ ᗜ 𖦹)و ´ˎ-  Right? Anyways, the PSL I drank while watching the parade almost made up for it.

I went home right after to get ready for my brother's birthday lunch! I was running on 3.5 hours of sleep, so I was completely out of it! I was overstimulated, trying to find an outfit to wear. My original plan didn't work out, as the tank top I wanted to wear no longer fits me. Fuck! My make-up and up turning out very fucking cakey, it looked crazy. Oh well! My brother wanted Hawaiian BBQ, so went to his favorite place.

I got this "Hawaiian Blue" boba drink? It's a very sweet, tangy candy drink, it's not the kind I typically get. I didn't enjoy it, it was too sweet, like snow cone syrup! I just wanted to try something different. I also ordered a plate with rice, macaroni salad and some beef. I wanted the beef and chicken combo, but my dumbass didn't specify that, so I ended up with a giant plate of beef. I guess there's my protein intake!

The food was delivered by this robot! I've never experienced that before!

Lmao! It's so massive! The proportions are very generous at this place, it's worth the price. I also had some spam musubi and tempura. Yum! I got full pretty fast, so I took the rest home.

While we were finishing up eating, one of the employees offered a leftover taro boba drink! I said "oh heck yeah", I'll take that! She was really nice as she offered to take our photo so my mother could be in it. My brother wanted to visit the mall afterwards, so we went! We ended up in the Macy's there, so that I could use their restroom. My brothers ended up in the perfume section, so me and my mother started smelling the Chanel perfume.

The woman at the counter was so cool, she loved my mom's vibe. She ended up giving us a decent sized sample of the perfume we liked! I was so so so happy to have another sample of the purple Chanel perfume again! I received one last year and very quickly used it up. I told the woman we had a party coming up and the samples would be in good use. Lucky day!!! I also got stopped about my shirt from a nice woman at one of the jewelry stores. She noticed the fairies and how they used to be all over MySpace, like 20 years ago... lol! She's not much older than me! That was a nice experience as well.

I ended up at Miniso! I swatched some really glittery eye shadow at the Canmake section. There are a lot of cute products, it just sucks that they're a bit expensive. I'd love to add more to my tiny collection. There was surprisingly a lot of Hello Kitty stuff there. There usually isn't a lot of cute Sanrio stuff there, so I was a bit surprised. Honestly, I expect more from Miniso, where was the Leopard print Hello Kitty collection?!

We went to Dutch Bro's after the mall! I got a sugar free sparkling water, since I already had my caffeine in the morning. It was okay, a bit lackluster! I should've gotten a peach flavored one. On the way home, my mom wanted to stop by DD's. "Oh no! Don't drag me to DD's!" She was like, "Can you spend $15 in 15 minutes?". Yes, yes I can. And I did.

I'm glad I found the brushes, I've been wanting to use my gauche paint set forever! I didn't have any designated brushes for it. I did look at the toys and kid section. I found this unicorn keychain that comes with lipgloss, rings and nail polish. It's cute, but I was really fixated on the lipgloss. It's a cool-tone, purple-blue glitter gloss. It's quite unique, I haven't seen anything like it. I like looking for glosses when I'm out, especially in the kid section. They tend to have more quirky colors!

We came home and sang Happy Birthday to my brother. He wanted a Bundt cake, so my mother got him this fucking good $50 cake. Worth it!! It was a moist biscoff cookie cake with thick ass cream cheese frosting. If I wanted to kill myself, I'd eat the whole damn cake. What a way to go! I didn't fall asleep until I was deliriously tired. I'm gonna have to fix this sleeping disorder, man. I have a bottle of sleeping pills ready to go. Let's hope I'm more productive this October!
