Horror Films and Sweet Things

Guess what? I'm baking again! Woohoo!! My mother grabbed a bunch of stuff at the Dollar Tree and gave me free range to do whatever. Very fun and exciting! I have already baked 2 different desserts and started watching a bunch of horror films. My main goal this October is to watch all of the classic horror films, since there are a lot that I haven't watched all the way through. I'm not the biggest fan of the classics, like Halloween and Child's Play, but I need to give them a chance. I have to!

The first film I forced myself to watch was Friday the 13th! I watched it while drinking a cup of pumpkin spice hot chocolate! I dressed it up with some orange, gummy worm whipped cream. Heck yeah!! As for the movie... Honestly, I didn't enjoy watching it. I got pretty bored (•᷄ᴗ•᷅ ᵕ) I might have to give it another chance, since I was cleaning my room... lol! I think it was a bit lackluster to me because it was Jason's mom the whole time. I'm gonna have to watch the rest of the films to see Jason in action!

The next film I managed to watch was Nightmare on Elm Street. This night, I baked Reese's flavored coffee cake! They came out a bit dry, but they were still good. I found a pumpkin shaped baking tray so I used it; We notoriously have a hard time pulling the pastry out of the pan because of it's shape. But, to my surprise, they came out clean! Thanks to the cooking spray I used, lol.

I watched Nightmare with my mother; She used to be really scared of Freddy Kruger as a kid! The film was pretty campy to me, I'm gonna assume it is for others. There are a lot of truly frightening moments in the film, like Tina being dragged around the walls of her room and Glen being sucked into his bed. It was more enjoyable to watch over Friday the 13th, I'll tell you that much!

The last film I watched was Scream! Scream is a good film, nothing wrong with it. It's meta, it's funny, it's entertaining. Stu always makes me laugh. It's just the brutal over-saturation of Scream merchandise and its sequels. I get so turned off by the masks being used for sex and the shitty glass cups that are covered in Criket adhesives. In fact, all the big guys, including Regan and Leatherface, are becoming the horror versions of "Live, Laugh, Love". But other than that, it's a good film! And who gives a shit, you know? Buy the cups and have your partner wear the mask for sexy photo shoots or sex. YOLO!

I didn't make anything for my Scream movie night, but I did make some Brookies today! I am watching Fright Night (1985) as I'm typing this, does that count? I wanted to bake them in cupcake sleeves to make it easier to create marshmallow webs, but my mom wanted me to use the new pan she got. It made it difficult to create the webs, they didn't turn out good! I covered my mistakes with some sprinkles... lol! They taste great, so that's all that matters!

The next dessert I'm gonna make is a Halloween Peeps s'mores dip! I'm not a big fan of Peeps, they've always grossed me out! But, maybe once they've been toasted over some chocolate morsels, they'll taste better. I also have some syringes to make mixed drinks and vampire teeth with red frosting to make cupcakes. I'll be making those next week! I also have a lot more films to watch, like Carrie, Halloween, Candy Man, Pet Sematary and so much more!

My dress for the Quince! It's a pretty dress, I'm sure it'll be useful again one day. I'm not used to showing so much ...
